TROOPER's BAND
2020 saw seven-year-old Trooper working hard to acquire a mare of his own, although he tried to keep several different mares, the adventures were short lived, until he successfully stole Maddie from Marty.
This older mare must have been just the confidence booster that this inexperienced band stallion needed, for Trooper went back for the rest of Marty's band.
Marty, is a 2014 Stallion out of Lightning and Satellite. He was named in the year of country singers, and was mistaken for a filly and named after Martina McBride, later when the techs realized their error, he was renamed Marty.
After much persistence, Marty successfully stole several of Brutus's mares in April 2019, Iris, and her colt, Poseidon, Paisley and Maine.
By July, Marty succeeded in taking the rest of Brutus band, Aurora, Cassie, Dawn's Early Light, Ferra and Maddie, leaving the old warrior lame in the process. However, in September he lost a pregnant Ferra back to Brutus but soon got her back, making Brutus a seemingly confirmed bachelor.
2020 brought sadness with both Iris and first time mama, Maine losing their foals. While Aurora brought sweet Bluegrass (colt) into the band. Marty was tested and briefly lost some of his mares, until he was successful in getting them back from Vamoose and other bachelors, hopefully he is a stronger, more observant band stallion.
In the late winter of 2021, we saw Trooper gain mare Maddie and then after much battling gain the rest of the band from Marty.
In April 2021, Marty took back some of his mares, leaving Trooper with a band of six, until Trooper took them all minus mama Maine and her filly Harper.
After fighting all summer, Marty took back all his mares from Trooper, the end of July.
Trooper wandered with the bachelors for a while and then took back Maine and Harper in the late winter of 2022.
This band can often be found in Wind Canyon's old stomping grounds.
After bach-ing it for a bit, Trooper has some ladies! Balfour, Daisy, Esprit, Faith, and Juniper from Sebastian's band have decided to roll with Trooper for now--we'll see if it sticks!
Maine & Harper have been on-again/off-again members of the Trooper band in spring 2023.
