NORTH DAKOTA BADLANDS HORSE

MYSTERY'S BAND

Mystery has had a larger band in the past but gave up half of them in 2012. Like Sidekick, Mystery seems to have a preference for certain colors of mares, having kept the darker mares and given up the brighter colored mares. The dark mares have remained loyal to him for several years, but he lost his young Papoose to Blaze the summer of 2014.

In 2015 Mystery picked up Cedar and later Sundance, from Red Face's band. Both mares are bay. He also took Ember's Girl from Thundercloud, who had gotten her from Copper when Copper was badly injured in 2014.

In 2018 he acquired Gretchen from Sidekick.

In the spring of 2019, Eagle gave birth to a new filly, Agency, a sweet little one with the most perfect seahorse on her head. However, by June she appeared to have difficultly keeping up with the herd and by mid-July had vanished. She is presumed deceased.

The winter of 2020 brought more hardship for the band as beloved mare, Ginger (one of the original spice girls) was lost due to complications with foaling.

His is one of the bands that is often found close to other bands in the area of Talkington Trail, Boicourt, and Lindbo Flats.

Mystery died on near or on May 21st, 2020
