REMEMBERING Sidekick
Remembering Sidekick
Sadly, Sidekick, the oldest band stallion in the park at age 20, has been found deceased. He had appeared to be in good condition for his age. We are unsure about the cause of death but he seems to have passed peacefully, there was no sign of a fight or struggle. We will most likely never know what happened but we can find peace in knowing he lived his entire life wild and free in TRNP. Sidekick was born in 2004 to mare Bella and the late stallion Little Brother. He was always with Copper when they were bachelors, thus the name, Sidekick. He held a band from 2008 up until his death. At the time of his death he had a band of 9; 7 mares and his 2 sons Tornado and Denver. The band is currently running without a band stallion. Only time will tell which stallion steps in or if one of his sons in the band steps up as band stallion. In his many years as a band stallion he sired over 40 foals, 10 still remain in the park. They are mares Sapphire, Cassie, Gretchen, Wynonna, Bannock, Bayou, Beech and stallions Guardian, Tornado and Denver. He also has 6 half-siblings that still remain in the park Goodbye old boy. Run across those green pastures with your son, Hayes!💔 |
