REMEMBERING Nanook
On April 6th 2019, Crow foaled a perfect, tiny little colt. Sadly, he was a lethal white.
As some of you may know, when a foal is born with the lethal white gene, they have a condition that is not survivable. With an incomplete colon, they soon colic and usually pass within a few hours to sometimes a day or so. Sadly, we have witness the birth and death of many of these lethal whites over the years. The park has a policy not to name them, but at NDBH, we usually do. His name is Corbin, which means “little crow.” He is a tiny, perfect little colt, very much loved, protected and cared for by his mama, Crow, and his family band until the very end. Watching his short life and death is one of the hardest things that our techs have to witness. We will never forget you sweet little ones for visit us for such a short time. Run wild and free in heaven with Nanook, Atlas and the rest of the eternal band. 💔 |
