REMEMBERING granite's boy
Granite’s Boy, (2004) son of Tanker and the gray and white stallion, Granite, was another visitor favorite who could usually be found near the Coal Vein road, often in the company of other bachelors like Yoakum.
His red roan coat, white belly spot, and crooked blaze made him recognizable and memorable to all who saw him. He was a band stallion for only two years, 2013 until 2015, when he lost his mare, Sumac, to Half Moon. His only foal, Kenai, died in the park. Sadly, Granite’s Boy just disappeared the 2019 winter. No one knows what happened to him; he looked healthy going into the winter. It is difficult losing these beautiful horses so unexpectedly but sometimes we have no answers. He will always be remember for the antics and friendships that he and his bachelor friends enjoyed. Until we met again, Granite's Boy. 💔 |
