REMEMBERING FLORIDA
Adorable Florida "Ida" was born on May 4th, 2016 to Eagle and Silver.
When she was a yearling she was choosen for adoption and placed in the holding facility on the morning of July 5th, 2017. Saturday early evening, after the horses were checked 4 times that day, she was showing signs of colic so the Vet was called. After treatment and close observation it was determined by the Vet that her life could only be saved by very risky colic surgery. Since the chances of success with that surgery were not high and she was a previously unhandled wild horse, park staff made the decision to prevent more pain and euthanize her. She was buried on site. We are all saddened, as you are, to lose this beautiful filly but we can all rest assured that everything was done for her. Thank you Jackie Scherer for this beautiful, peaceful photo that was taken some time ago in the park. I hope we can all remember sweet Florida this way. Run wild sweet girl.💔 |
