COAL'S BAND
Coal stole Busy Blue from Cocoa late in 2012 but lost her to him again for the winter of 2013-2014 because of the roundup that fall.
The spring of 2014 he was able to get her and her yearling back.
The summer of 2015 Cocoa briefly had Busy Blue back. Coal wore him down, challenging him by circling the band all day and took Busy Blue and Maggie that night. Betty Blue came from Wind Canyon and Dixie from Silver.
Moana, out of Dixie, (adopted in 2018) is Coal's first "official" foal, but he did sire Flicka's 2013 colt, Nation. Betty Blue surprised everyone by giving birth to a colt Amantes, April 27th, 2019.
The band usually kept themselves out of sight and out of trouble around Horse Trap Hill, but have recently been seen more in the Wind Canyon area or down by the river.
July of 2023 brought surprises with Amantes being sent off to bachelorhood and Busy Blue joining Cloud.
